Kwik Cricket 6 A

On Wednesday the 28th of June, both the Boys A and the Girls' team went to play at the Kwik Cricket tournament at Wellington College.

The first match we, the boys A, played Harmans Water. An amazing team effort stole us the win. We bowled and took 5 wickets - Jake taking 5, Charlie taking 1, Frankie taking 1 and Freddie taking 1. We also had amazing batting with Aidan hitting a 6 and a few 4’s and Cameron hitting a few 4’s. The score was 201-248 and us winning.

Our next game was a bit more challenging with our opponents being St Margaret’s Clitherow. With more amazing batting and bowling, we came through and took the victory, the score being 217-248 (again).

Next we faced our toughest opponents of the tournament, Ascot Heath. We played our best but sadly we couldn’t take the win as Ascot Heath snatched it right off us. We still batted and bowled our socks off but it wasn’t enough. Still an amazing team performance. The scores being 246-237.

Our last game was against Sandy Lane. We played astonishingly well taking the win. Although we only got a few runs, our fielding paid off. Taking 8 wickets, catching most of them, we defended our score off them, the score being 208-222.

Sadly we didn’t get through to the quarter finals but we played amazingly. Well done to Jake, Charlie, Frankie, Aidan O’B, Cameron, Stanley, Freddie, Dino and Molly.

Kwik Cricket Girls

On Wednesday the 28th of June New Scotland Hill participated in the Bracknell Forest Kwik Cricket Tournament.

Our first match was against Burchill, where we lost by 24 runs. Although we lost we had excellent bowlers, such as Immie, Pippa, Gracie, Melissa and Mia. Their bowlers weren’t as good as ours but they did very well in batting.

Our second match was against Winkfield St Marys, where we won. Our batters were Elinor and Lucy who gained us lots of runs, increasing our points. Gracie scored us an amazing 3 4s as well as Rachel hitting it very far. Our last batters Erin and Mia, as well as Melissa and Gabby, scored us plenty of runs.

Sadly, one the girls teams who we were due to play dropped out at last minute so we only got two games but in the end we got to play a friendly against St Michaels, which we sadly lost but they had an brilliant batter. It was a very fun game and we all came off the pitch laughing.

We would like to say a special thanks to Gracie for her excellent team support and great leadership.
