Minibridge

Last Friday, twenty four children from Years 5 and 6 competed in a national Minibridge competition in Silver Birch; two experienced players from the bridge union, Mike and Joan came to score the rounds of cards and help us. It was a virtual competition against other schools and children - but their true identities were not revealed. They played the same card hands as us in their own schools and the scores will be compared.

By 12:00 we had settled onto our tables of four and the play began. All afternoon we played very well, with some amazing use of trumps and grand slams, one from Jake and Josiah. Also very close grand slams by Gabby and Mia, Lucy and Elinor.

We persevered to play ten rounds of cards and then had a well-deserved afternoon tea. Yum!

Joan announced the results and the end. We thanked them and presented them with a bouquet of flowers.
