Year 6
Welcome to Year 6
Here you will find all the information you need to know about the goings-on in Year 6.
We hope you all had a wonderful summer break and are looking forward to starting Year 6.
Our topic this term is called 'The World at War', where we will study the two World Wars. Our learning will include:
- Understanding how both wars started.
- Identifying the changes to Europe during these times.
- Investigating the impact the wars had on different people.
- Understanding the different roles people had during the wars.
Within our topic, we will also be using different art techniques, including watercolour, to depict important events from the wars as well as understanding the importance of 'Make do and Mend'.
Throughout our topic, we will be considering the following key questions and using our research and knowledge to answer them at the end of the term:
- Why were the Home Front and Land Army so significant during the World Wars?
- How were the two wars different, e.g. how they started, the equipment used etc?
- How did different groups of people contribute to the ending of the two wars?
- What was the impact on Europe after each war had ended?
