We wrote some really interesting fact files last week. What was your favourite thing you learnt about the Titanic? I think it was amazing that it took 3 years to build!

We also really enjoyed your creative writing pretending you had been on the sinking ship. It was really inventive and we were really impressed with the handwriting we saw too.

This week, we are going to write an acrostic poem. Maybe you could choose other words to write acrostic poems about too. Do send them to us if you do so that we can share them on the newsletter and on our school website.

We will do our usual handwriting exercise following our continuous cursive teaching of joins.

In spelling we are going to assess the children in school so I have included a check sheet for the Year 1 common exception words and also the Year 2 list as many children are practising these words now. If you would like to test your child's spelling at home that would be great and if you could email us to tell us how you got on we could add it to your child's records too.
