How big or small?

 

Grab yourself a tape measure or ruler.

 

1. Can you find an object that is less than 20cm long? What is its length to the nearest cm?

2. Can you find an object that is between 20cm and 40cm long? What is its length to the nearest cm?

3. Can you find an object that is between 75cm and 85cm long? What is its length to the nearest cm?

4. Now find two more objects that are less than 1m in length. What is their exact length?

5. Put your objects in order from smallest to largest. 

6. What is the difference in length between the largest and the smallest?

You can use a mirror to help you draw the other half of these pictures and patterns. Remember they have to be mirror images!

Can you colour in one half of these shapes? Remember, that you must have an EQUAL amount of shaded and unshaded parts!

These subtraction equations will help you to practise your calculation techniques. Answers are also included! Remember you can use pictures and numberlines to help you, and you may need to exchange!
