Maths
Our last block of work in maths will be a week learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We will introduce 3D shape, recap 2D shape, sort 2D/ 3D shape and compare 2D/ 3D shape.
We will also describe shapes:
2D: how many sides (straight/ curved) and vertices (corners).
3D: how many edges, faces, vertices.
It may be useful to gather some shapes from around the house - the kitchen is always a good place to look e.g. cylinder = a can of tomatoes.
We will use lessons 1, 2, 4, 5 from the slide show this week (lesson 3 we will use to quickly recap 2D shape).
Lessons 1, 2, 4 we will teach in school, lesson 5 is for you to do at home. There will also be a maths lesson from Mrs Fenner which is computer based so please look for it in the computing icon.
I have set a mixture of worksheets, a game, practical and challenge activities plus a MyMaths homework for you to do. Please choose five activities to suit your child.
