Topic - Deserts
Watch the video clip and work through the power point presentation.
Write a fact sheet or about an animal that lives in the desert. Write about the features that the animal has which means it is able to survive these conditions. You could do this as a labelled diagram.
Make a set of top trump cards for animals you find in the desert. We will add to these over the next few weeks to create a set of animals who live in extreme environments to play with. Choose 5 to make this week. There is a template at the bottom if you want to use it.
Art - Patterns
Using paper, pencils, markers and some objects from around the home and classroom, create some fantastic patterns that will astound and amaze.
What You Need:
- Paper (8-1/2″ x 11″ or larger)
- Felt tips or pencils
- Rulers or other straight edges
- Round lids from various sized containers (margarine, yogurt, milk caps, etc.)
Start by drawing between 12 and 16 straight lines across the paper. They can go in any direction, just as long as they travel from one edge of the paper to the other.
Next, place your circular objects on the page and start tracing them. Add as many or as few circles as you like and let them overlap in some areas.
Now comes the fun part. Grab your watercolor paints – or crayons, pencil crayons, felt tips, etc. — whatever you have on hand. I used watercolors.
Begin filling in every other space with color. Take your time. Before you know it you will have a colourful piece of art that you will be proud to hang on your wall.
French - Weather
Work through the power point on weather, practicing saying the French words after listening to the sound files.
Record the weather, in french for the next 5 days using the vocab from the power point.
Science- Wonderful Water
