Week 2 (w/b 30/3/20)
This week's activities are all based on Journey To The River Sea. There is one activity for each day: feel free to do them in any order. Remember to keep reading for at least 20 minutes each day and do let me know if you've particularly enjoyed a book as we could share your recommendations on the website.
This week, I'm trying something a bit different to SATs practice papers! We had one maths topic still to learn (statistics) before school closed so I've tried to put together 5 sessions which are quite similar to what we'd have done in the classroom. Do your best and let me know how you get on but please don't worry if you're finding it tricky. There are a couple of warm-up activities for each day, followed by some brief information to look at with your parents and then some opportunities to practise what you've found out. Choose the level that feels right for you and feel free to email me with any queries. After Easter, the focus will be on revising and consolidating.
It's our last week on the Maya this week so I've suggested a couple of bigger projects to finish the topic. Please send photos of anything you create- it would be lovely to share what you're doing with the class on our website. The science focus is water and air resistance so there is a bit of research to do and then some experiments to carry out if you have the right resources. Feel free to extend your learning in any direction you like!
