Week 5- 04/05/20
Dear Reception,
I hope you have all enjoyed learning all about the police this week and have had lots of conversations about 'People Who Help Us' in our community. This week we will be focusing on fire fighters.
I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the photographs and videos that have been uploaded onto Tapestry. Thank you mums and dads that have kindly shared your learning with us.
Friday the 8th of May is a bank holiday and the celebration of VE day. If you would like to do an activity linked to VE Day, there is a website with some information and resources for yourself and your children to look at. https://www.veday75.org/
If you have any comments or queries please do email me on:

Take care,
Mrs. Dhariwal

Letters and Sounds Phonics
We follow this programme at school and we are now being offered a chance to have daily live lessons.
Take a look and see if it is something your child would benefit from.

Oxford Owl
We know that many children have read their reading scheme books from school and so we are setting up some (socially distanced) book swapping at school. Mr Cotterill has given more information in this week's newsletter about how this will work. However, you can also access free e-books from the reading scheme (and you can search by the colour your child is on.)
Simply register and there are lots of great ideas in ways to support your child at home.

Maths Home Learning with White Rose Maths
At New Scotland Hill, we follow the White Rose Maths scheme of learning. To help children continue learning with the same techniques we use at school, I will be setting work from the WRM website. Children should start with Week 1 and do one activity each day.
Each activity comes with a short video, showing what is being taught, and this is followed up with a fun activity.
