Hello Year 1!
Welcome back after what I hope was a restful half term. I am very excited to be back off maternity leave officially now as I have missed you all very much. Ember is 6 months old and is doing very well. :)
I have been speaking to Mrs Hardy a lot over the last few months and know you have all worked really hard especially when things are SO different at the moment. I have enjoyed looking at your photos and reading some of your emails. Well done!
I know I have seen some of you at school over the last few weeks doing book swaps, on the last day of school when I took Year 1 for the day and also some of the keyworker families who have been coming in to school, but I do hope I get to see ALL of you again very soon!
This week we will be looking at directional and positional language in maths such as up, down, above, below, left and right. In English, Mrs Hardy has shared a non-fiction book about Oceans so that you can have a go at writing your own fact page for an information book too. In the other subjects we have focused on fish. You will be learning about the life cycle of a fish and naming and measuring different fish that can be found in the ocean or rivers.
I do look forward to seeing what you have been learning throughout the week. Mrs Hardy and I are both on the end of an email if you need either of us and we look forward to hearing from you very soon.
Have a great week.
